Grimes-County-Courthouse-—-Historical-Restoration

The courthouse received new exterior masonry restoration, window repair/replacement, and exterior door repairs. The deteriorated plaster walls were repaired and repainted. The wood windows were stripped and stained to match the original colors.

The architectural metal restoration required cornice and cladding repair/replacement and new coated steel gutters and metal roof tile repair/replacement. New custom decorative sheet metal elements were produced and installed at the original locations.

The courthouse window weather stripping was replaced, the windows were glazed and refurbished, and the entire courthouse was repainted.

The strict requirements of preserving historic fabric, detailed replication of original profiles, and the installation of new or refurbished materials incorporating historic methods, were met throughout the process.
